NurSERY
Welcome to Lower Foundation Nursery
Meet the team: Our Nursery is led by Mrs Hill (Nursery Nurse), Mrs Hollies (Teaching Assistant) and Mrs Flower (Apprentice Teaching Assistant).
At Featherstone All Saints Nursery we are learning through play and have a keep on trying attitude, encouraging children to keep having a go at everything and don't give up! We believe that communication is key for high quality childcare.
Children in our nursery are given the opportunity to explore independently as children learn and develop skills between birth and age 5 more than any time in their life.
We have a had a fantastic start back to nursery and our new children are settling in really well and we understand that starting nursery is a very big step for these little super stars. We are introducing our new topic: Marvellous me/ Into the woods.
Library
Our library days are: Tuesdays Please share these books with your children and encourage them to talk about the illustrations.
Baking
On Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon we bake. Baking is 50p a week in order for us to purchase ingredients.
Forest school
On Wednesday nursery children enjoy going to their forest school session and learning outdoors.
Wellingtons
We try to go out in all weathers and so we would ask you to send a pair of wellingtons, named, for your child to keep at nursery.
50 things to do before you're 5
We are proud to announce we are exploring 50 things to do before you're 5 within the Wakefield authority. We would love if parents downloaded the APP and enjoyed the activities suggested as this will link to what your child will be learning at nursery. We are setting up a display in nursery of all the activities your children experience and would love parents to send in some photographs. Buddy the bear would love to join you as you find out about all the fantastic things on offer for your children.

Autumn term
We are, as always very busy and this half term we are focusing on the topic.... Into the woods. We are looking at Woodland animals and what animals we might see in the UK. We will also be discovering what changes we can identify when Autumn turns to Winter. In R.E. we are focusing on Celebrations and the Nativity story.
The authors we will be exploring this term are:

Don't forget to download and check the Class Dojo app, there are regular updates, photographs and messages sent. Please feel free to send pictures and messages back, to enhance our home school relationship.
We organise lots of high quality activities and a stimulating environment indoor and outdoors as children learn in a variety of different approaches.

Outdoor Learning
In nursery we LOVE playing outdoors and we are very fortunate to have a large outdoor area! The outdoors environment offers the opportunity for children to make sense of the outdoor world around them. The outdoor environment can also help with fine and gross motor skills, all round physical development and improved knowledge and understanding of the world.
